The evolution of Lubricants

The earliest recorded use of lubricants (vegetable and animal fat) dates back almost 2,000 years, when great stone statues and structures were moved using greases and lubricants. The first people to use petroleum products were believed to be the American Indians. Enterprising businessmen who saw the potential usefulness of the new petroleum products followed.

The demand for these products, as we know, increased by leaps and bounds. To keep up with the newer generation of high-speed, high tech equipment, companies began to concentrate on the need for high quality lubricants. Most oil companies who were basically fuel companies, began switching their attention to high volume, high profit fuel production. Oils and grease production became of secondary importance and were left to the smaller companies to research and design. Thus emerged product brands such as Cofran.

Cofran

Cofran founded in 1954, a product of France has been present in the Middle East, South East Asia, North and South America since 1975. Today, in Kuwait, we at ALSAYER Holding in association with Cofran, have specialized in the marketing, sales and service of high tech lubricants within the automobile maintenance segment.
